Pipeline regulatory research for work that needs review.
From a pipeline question to research you can revisit.
Kondwit is a regulatory research workspace for pipeline professionals and the teams that review their work. It brings cited material, working notes and assumptions together so reviewers can inspect the basis for a conclusion and see what still needs checking.
From a question to reviewable research
- 1
Check a passage
Inspect a source passage with its surrounding text. Check the source identity and relevant dates.
- 2
Examine supporting material
Identify the role and status of supporting material. Keep source statements separate from working notes.
- 3
Review and reopen the record
State an assumption and an unresolved project fact. Reopen the record to review what was checked and what still needs checking.
Check coverage and source dates. Keep citations with your findings. Review the underlying sources and your conclusions before sharing.

Use your own assistant through MCP
With MCP, your assistant retrieves research material and can save research context or finalize a memo in KONDWIT. The client writes the memo narrative; KONDWIT applies deterministic checks and saves a versioned artifact. Workflow actions remain in the KONDWIT app.
Read about MCPKnow the boundaries of the collection
KONDWIT works from an imported collection of regulatory sources. Coverage and update timing vary by source. Consult the cited government material before relying on a legal proposition. A successful lookup, recent import or saved memo does not establish that every applicable requirement has been found.
The federal collection includes 49 CFR Parts 190-196, 198 and 199; DOT Part 40; collected Federal Register documents, PHMSA interpretations, enforcement material, court-derived material, oversight and Smart Interpretations.
The state layer: A state-source and adoption research index for 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico. State regulatory text is not yet verified for publication. Source availability and adoption qualifications vary by jurisdiction. The adoption-posture index is research with evidence and qualifications recorded per jurisdiction, not a determination of final legal applicability for any operator. The federal corpus does not substitute for missing state law: where a jurisdiction’s regulatory text is not carried, no federal result stands in for it. Each jurisdiction page explains every missing or withheld source, and every verified source link carries its verification date and declared boundary. Consult the cited state authority before relying on any of it.
When supplied, corpusAsOf reports a source-import timestamp. It is not a legal effective date, a guarantee of complete coverage, or proof that no later change exists. Missing dates mean currency is unknown; a combined date may reflect only known contributors.
